Approach the chamber, and destroy your sight
With a new Gorgon. Do not bid me speak;
See, and then speak yourselves.

The Gorgon Fuzz is our take on the infamous Roland BeeBaa, Japan's answer to the aggressive American and British fuzzes of the early 70s. This is a workhorse fuzz, capable of achieving an array of tones from vintage fuzzy 70s psych to heavy blown out doom.

Keeping the snarling, unapologetic DNA of the original, we've completely reworked the tone stack to create a more versatile fuzz, letting you shift around the notch filter to discover new tonal possibilities. We've also added a bias control to let you further alter the texture of your tone and achieve more velcro like, gated sounds.

2 Tone Channels

On one side, you have a Big Muff style filter that you can use to dial in heavy, thick fuzz sounds capable of bringing down walls. Go from smooth rumbling lows to ear piercing highs.

The other side, enabled by the GAZE switch, runs through an extreme notch filter that will blast your tone to stone, emphasizing upper octave harmonics. The SHIFT control moves the notch from 150Hz to 3kHz, achieving scoops ranging from stock BeeBaa to Super-Fuzz and anything in between.

Controls

  • VOL - Controls the output volume. Turn it up to drive your amp or any other pedal in the Gorgon’s way. Turn it down to use the Gorgon as its own standalone tone shaping device.
  • GAIN - Adjusts the level of your signal entering the pedal (similar to your guitars volume knob). Use this to clean up your signal, especially if using loud single-coil pickups.
  • BIAS - Adjusts the bias of the second gain stage (stock setting is fully counter clockwise). This gives control over the clipping symmetry, affecting the texture of the sound. Start turning this up to achieve more vintage fuzz tones. Go further to get into dying battery sounds. When turned up high enough, the Gorgon will heavily gate and sputter.
  • TONE - Controls the frequency response when GAZE is disengaged (Channel 1). Turn to the left for more lows, turn to the right for more highs.
  • SHIFT - Controls the frequency of the notch filter when GAZE is engaged (Channel 2). Moves the notch from 150Hz to 3kHz. Extreme mid-scooped sounds between 9 and 1 o’clock. Passed noon gets you into treble-boost territory.
  • BYPASS - Turns the pedal on/off.
  • GAZE - The Gorgon shrieks and begins to gaze in your direction. This switch engages the secondary tone stack (channel 2) - a more extreme scooped sound emphasizing upper octave harmonics. The SHIFT control will now be active, disabling the TONE control.

Power
This pedal was designed to operate using your typical center negative, regulated 9 VDC power supply. Always check your power supply for proper voltage and polarity before connecting. There is no battery connection inside the pedal.
